The space has been cleaned, equipment is installed - I am ready to start work as soon as we get approval from Health and Safety.

We will be working on bacterial pathogens and their interactions with the host.  Using molecular tools and high-throughput imaging technologies we aim to discover novel aspects of host-pathogen interaction.

We are starting with autophagy and gastrointestinal pathogens, but are keen to expand to identify novel virulence factors from other infections.  I am extremely excited about the possibilities and potential of this new lab, and looking forward to building an enthusiastic team to drive our research forward.
